Brooklyn Superhero Supply

| | Comments (0)

This past weekend was one of those get out and see the town weekends. On Saturday afternoon I headed over to see the 826NYC.org's location and Brooklyn's Superhero Supply store. There was a book fair and superhero competition although I didn't see too many superheros.

The ones that were there seemed a lot shorter than I imagined. Maybe comics does something to you.

I've gotten word from an insider that the Book Fair will be extended to next weekend as well. So, for all you Brooklynites, New Yorker's head on over to buy some good books for cheap to help support 826NYC.org

Tracie is sharing her work in Cambridge, MA August 3rd-8th. The work is from this past year and last summer. If you are in the Boston area you should try and make one of the performances. Mandy is a talented pianist and artist and her performance will silhouette Tracie's works beautifully.

Please donate to Tracie and Mandy to help support the show and performances!

Brooklyn, our new home...

It's been a whirl-wind last month. Last month around this time, I found out that I had an interview with a charter school that is opening up in Brooklyn this summer. I went for the interview and was asked to stay for a second interview with the CEO and founder of the school. By the end of that hour and a half, I was contemplating a job offer for the school.

Waiting at the Bus Stop

As I sat at the bus stop, I came to the realization that I was waiting. This doesn’t sound like a large realization when put so simply, but it was almost profound to me, I was sitting, and waiting, nothing else. I was not reading a book. I wasn’t contemplating what I would do next, or where I was going. I wasn’t mentally trying to organize my day into a series of well fitting and efficient motions. I was just waiting.

RUSH RUSH RUSH!!!

It is confession time for me. It is time that I come clean with everyone out there. I don’t exceed the speed limit. There, I have said it. When I drive, I keep it right at the speed limit. Not a couple of miles per hour over it, but right at it, and it seems to drive people insane. I personally don’t get it. Obeying the speed limit is the only time that I can think of (though I am sure there are others) where most people in genneral will call you obscene things, and consider you to be an all around @&#*!%^@ for not breaking the law.

Trust and Fear

I don’t know how much longer I can take it. The whole thing has become ridiculous. For the past few years I have denied the allegations that George Walker Bush and his ilk were doing anything shady and underhanded. I figured they were just stupid. I tend to ignore conspiracy theories as a general concept, as they are usually simply the products of overactive imaginations, and paranoia. Still, I have to say that I really cannot ignore the simple facts of the situation any longer.
