It's been a whirl-wind last month. Last month around this time, I found out that I had an interview with a charter school that is opening up in Brooklyn this summer. I went for the interview and was asked to stay for a second interview with the CEO and founder of the school. By the end of that hour and a half, I was contemplating a job offer for the school.
Today, I'm taking a break from my first three exciting weeks of planning and preparation for launching the new school, The Williamsburg Charter School, in Brooklyn (Greenpoint/Williamsburg area). For those of you not familiar with New York City Public Schools, or New york Charter Schools, the gist of the story is we are a public school that receives some public funds for our school , however our Charter requires us to extend the educational opportunities for our students, hence we must fundraise to pay for those extra operational and instructional costs. So, anything helps. I know that most of you are not in the NYC area, so you may feel hesitant to help out a school far away, let me just say this, kids are kids and I'll know many of these kids personally and have a positive influence over their high school experience, so if you know me, trust me, we'll do our best.

I am glad that you and Tracie are living close by. I love your new apartment. I missed your cat.
I am also happy for you that you love your new job. The school sounds wonderful. May be one day I will come by for a visit. Keep up the good work.
